1. Development of mass spectrometric techniques that facilitates analyses of biological samples.

2. Investigation of non-covalent interactions using native mass spectrometry and hydrogen exchange mass spectrometry.

3. Characterization of Chinese medicinal herbs by mass spectrometry.

姚钟平博士简介：Dr. Yao received his BSc degree and MSc degree from Fudan University in 1988 and 1991 respectively. He worked at Zhongshan University between 1991-1997.  Dr Yao then got his PhD degree in chemistry from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2000. He was a postdoctoral fellow in University of Maryland between 2000-2002, a research associate at University of Cambridge between 2002-2005, and a Research Council UK academic fellow in School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Ulster between 2006-2008. He joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in December 2008 and currently serves as an assistant professor at Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology. Dr Yao’s research focuses on fundamentals and applications of mass spectrometry.
